FAQS
Why metal roofing?
Because all roofing is not created equal. The extreme wind, snow, hail, and sunshine of the Alberta climate mean that our roofs have to be tough enough to handle a bit of everything Mother Nature has to offer. The metal roofing systems provided by Renoteck Roofing are built to provide year-round protection for many years to come, representing a great investment against the costly hassle of replacement and frequent repair involved in other traditional roofing materials. All of our products are incredibly durable with definite advantages for our climate.
Do metal roofs cost more than conventional roofs?
No. With a much longer lifespan than other roofing material, metal roofing systems cost much less than a conventional roof over time. As a bonus, our metal roofing represents a significant investment in your home, as it increases your home’s value while saving you money by being more energy efficient. Also, on average, the cost of roofing materials doubles every 10 years. Our metal roofing work has a lifespan of 40 years—more than twice as long as the lifespan of shingle, fiberglass, asphalt, wood and other traditional roofing materials!
Are metal roofs noisier than other roofs?
Our precision metal roofing technology is a long way off from the antique agricultural tin roofs of yesteryear. Our state-of-the-art metal roofing has been subjected to scientific testing using a decimeter to measure sound, and there is no discernible difference in noise levels between a metal roof and other roofing products.
Are metal roofs uniformly metallic in appearance?
No. Our versatile metal roofing is available in a variety of colours, styles, textures, and finishes for all kinds of applications, including copper penny, mission red, evergreen, new cedar, aged cedar, and stone.
Are metal roofs heavier than other roofs?
Actually, metal is a comparatively lightweight roofing material. Our company only uses KasselWood and KasselShake roofs which are significantly lighter than roofing materials like shingle, cedar shake, slate, or clay or concrete tile.
Will a metal roof rust?
Our premium metal roofs are composed of thick galvanized steel. The galvanizing process is a rust inhibitor with proven results for many centuries. With the addition of a protective coating, our roofing is rust proof, as well as water-damage and corrosion resistant.
Does metal roofing attract lightning?
This myth is not supported by scientific data. Lightning seeks out the tallest structure, very often trees, poles, or towers. Our metal roofing systems are fire resistant and lightning safe.
